*Houston County Imagination Library Offers On-Line Registration*

Effective immediately, children who are residents of Houston County served
by the Erin, Tennessee Ridge, and Stewart Post Offices may be enrolled
on-line to receive free books through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
The on-line registration is available at www.dollysimaginationlibrary.com.
Of course children can still be enrolled by completing a brief enrollment
form available at the Public Library, the Health Department or the
Department of Human Services.
The Houston County Imagination Library was introduced by the Erin Rotary
Club in the Fall of 2005. More than 400 Houston County children have
received books mailed directly to them at their homes. Over 5,450 books
have already been delivered to Houston County children.
To be eligible the child must be a resident of Houston County and be under
age 5. Once enrolled by his or her parent or guardian, the child receives
an age-appropriate, hard-bound book mailed to his or her home each month at
absolutely no cost to the family. Stewart County also has a successful
program serving the children of Stewart County.
The funding for the Houston County program is shared on a 50% - 50% basis
between the Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation established by Governor
Phil Bredesen and our local sponsoring organization, the Erin Rotary Club
through the Erin Rotary Foundation, Inc. However, the real credit goes to
those local businesses, companies, clubs, organization or individuals who
have pledged and/or made contributions to support the program for our local
children. The most generous are those that have been designated as
“Founding Sponsors” and they include the City of Erin, Hilcrest Dental
Clinic, Houston County, Magnum Manufacturing, Mitchum Drug Company, Regions
Bank, Mr. & Mrs. Tim Riggins, Traditions First Bank, and the Erin Rotary
Club.
